Getting out of bed is a struggle every Sunday but not if you have the right things to look forward to. I don't know about you but all it takes to make my Sunday perfect is good food, good company and great conversations. The food blogger meet up organised by Lime Tray at Zerruco {that super fancy place at Hotel Ashok I always wanted to try out}, had all the three things I just mentioned.

The restaurant, which is also a perfect place to lounge, party, apart from casual dining has recently given its menu a makeover. Expect summer-friendly drinks, salads that are as delicious as they look, mouthwatering appetizers and desserts that will make your day. My afternoon started with an Orange Blossom, a refreshing orange flavoured mojito with a delightful minty tinge. When the first round of salads began, I was already having such a good time with other foodies talking about the culinary scene in Delhi and what a boom it is going through- but hey, no one's complaining!

Fresh Seasonal Vegetable Salad was a good start to the meal- I'm not really a salad person but munched on this one happily. Also, what most places forget is that there's more to vegetable salads than just lettuce. I saw a good mix of fresh veggies in this one and a very minimal, citrusy dressing. Next up, Beetroot Goat Cheese Salad with Caramelized Walnuts was the most gorgeous salad I had seen. The toffeed walnuts was a nice touch to an already genius combination of beetroot, fresh goat cheese and rocket leaves.

Looking at the massive Non-Veg Mezze Platter made me realise how I'm missing out on so much delicious food being a vegetarian. Just kidding. It was so tempting to look at and all the nonvegetarians in the house had only good things to say about it. I tasted the typical line up of mezze dips and they were amazing! Soon it was time for Pizza and it was my favourite thing from the afternoon.

Mushroom and Spinach Pizza came with a base baked so perfect and toppings so moist, I was in Pizza heaven. Mozzarella, spinach and mushroom came sitting on a spread of delicious pesto. The fish shaped Margarita Pizza was not very far behind and was equally enticing. I was so full by by the time Verdure Grigliate arrived- a calzone of tomato, zucchini and caramalized green apple. My favourite main course dish was Mushroom Ravioli- pasta stuffed with gooey mushroom stuffing in delcious cheese sauce! Love at first bite.

Favourite time, dessert time! As I tried to hide my excitement and failed at it, a gorgeous plate of Banoffee Pie arrived on the table and tempted me to bits. One bite and I knew there's more to than this pie than just a pretty face. Highly recommended. I wouldn't say the same about Hazelnut Mousse and the Baklava, but they were decent enough!

I had such a great at time at Zerruco. Came home with a full tummy and a happy heart!
