This new cafe in SDA needs #NoFilter

Cuisine: Continental, Bakery
Cost: 1000 for two

I've got no problem with hashtags, except that they are EVERYWHERE. This new cafe in SDA is called #NoFilter #Music #Cafe #Bar. While I can see that they've tried to cash in on popular culture, it made little sense to me. What I would say though, is that it's got a nice ring to it and might wanna make you visit the place at least once.

I went there on a Wednesday evening looking for desserts and decided to go for the Salted Caramel cake- best culinary decision of the week for sure. The cake was super moist, the frosting bang on- topped with a beautiful caramel sauce. It made want to stay and try more stuff on the menu even though I wasn't particularly hungry.

We were feelin' up to some beer and found out that they've got 2+1 till 10 PM. Bring on the BIRA, we chimed. For food, we decided on Cheese and Garlic Potato Wedges. Nice and crisp, they came with a minty mayo dip that made everything better. The portion too, was quite alright. We went for a Mixed Sauce Penne next- it was a good ol, super cheesy comforting pasta dish you'd want on a winter evening. Although, the sauce was pretty much like Alfredo, instead of the mix one. I was pretty happy with both the dishes!

Our bill rounded off to Rs. 2520 {including the mentioned food items and six {4+2 because of happy hours} BIRA beers. The menu's got quite a number of Breakfast options, desserts and coffee! Everything at #NoFilter is instagram-worthy. From quirky wall art to vintage decor pieces, a map made out of coffee beans, cute pans to serve dishes in and some fine-looking desserts. The windows open to the bustling SDA market, just adjacent to What a Comic Show. It is a spacious cafe, the music is a nice mix of slow and peppy and there's free wi-fi- so you can definitely work out of here. Although the chairs were a tad bit uncomfortable for me.

It's got a rooftop seating as well with a nice little bar and louder music than the indoor seating area. The service however is somewhat slow so I suggest you better not visit in case you're in a hurry. While it may need no filter, what the cafe could REALLY use is a dedicated space where people can dance- it's already got the music and the mood. A 3.5 out of 5 from my side.
