{Tried And Tasted}: New York Slice, HKV

 Where: 50, Hauz Khas Village
Cuisine: Pizza, Fast food
Cost: 800 for two

It makes me super happy that a lot of QSRs and affordable dining options are coming to HKV. Back in my college days, every time one of my friends made a plan to eat in HKV, I used to hear a mental voice- "hmm there goes all my pocket money". But with the coming of quick dining options like Pat And Harry, Wow Momos, The Big Burp Theory, The Hippie Trail etc., that's not the case anymore.

Another pocket-friendly option, New York Slice is a cosy pizza parlour in the village that serves authentic American style pizzas without any India-pleasing shenanigans. It currently has 3 outlets in Delhi NCR {HKV, Gurgaon and GK2} . I often order pizza from NYS in office, which they deliver quick and hot. However, this was the first time I had the pizzas straight out of the oven at the outlet and they were even better!

You can either have a Medium, Large or Extra Large pizza or have it by the slice- however, the slice menu has limited options to choose from. I had a regular pizza with half and half toppings: Double decker  {simple cheese pizza with double the amount of cheese than a Margherita} and Rockefeller {jalapeno, sundried tomato and olives}. Both were absolutely sinful- perfect thin crust, cheese loaded in a way that it isn't insanely dripping all over me and great combinations of toppings.

My favourite thing on their menu are the Garlic Knots- Baked pizza dough knots with retarded amount of finely chopped garlic stuffed inside as well as sprinkled on top. It tastes pretty much like their Garlic Bread but the texture is crispier with a stronger kick of garlic. Both of them however, make for delicious sides- I recommend having it with the cheese dip and ranch sauce. I wasn't very impressed with Pasta Arrabiata, it was pretty average, the thin sauce lacked any richness and there was absolutely no sign of cheese.

They don't have many options for desserts- I ordered Oreo Surprise, cookies dipped in pancake batter and deep fried and dusted with powdered sugar- YUM! {Remember when I told you about fried oreos for the first time? It was here}

I finished off with a hot Orange Mint tea, nothing special but comforting after all that cheese I had. I would definitely go again for the pizza and also to try out the Cheesy Fries and the mean-looking Strombolis {pizza dough wrap with cheese + veggies/meat} . NYS is definitely high on taste, portion size and value for money! Do visit.
