{ Future of Fashion } in a mobile-only world

A world without mobile phones- I’m too scared to even imagine it. My mobile phone is the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see before sleeping. It has become a part of my life that governs how I socialize, share and grow as a person. Even though it might sound unhealthy, but it is the truth. The world is becoming mobile-friendly- every sphere, every where. If you are reading this, you are part of the generation that is witnessing this transformation and also, playing a major role in it. I don’t mean to encourage this unhealthy obsession that we now have with our mobile phones. I’m simply trying to face the fact that mobile phones have now become a third limb for us humans that facilitates convenience in everyday life.

I am a college-goer and I am constantly on a hunt for ways to have fun while also saving my pocket money. I need new clothes every other day for no reason. I need to look good everywhere I go. This is my time to make good first impressions. My fashion needs are thus, at their peak right now. As much as I love shopping, going out to the market or the malls isn’t always feasible. Plus, it seems wiser to buy online as the prices and the deals are definitely better.

The world first shifted from physical shopping to online shopping, and now e-commerce is going from website-driven to app-driven. We no longer open our computers or laptops to book a cab, or a flight or even a table at the restaurant. So, why do we have to open our desktops for shopping? The online shopping platforms like Myntra are now acknowledging the huge role of mobile phones in the lives of their customers. They are investing in mobile applications that are consumer friendly, give a personalized experience to the users- on the go. Shopping can now be done on the go- thanks to mobile applications. While some are skeptical about it, in my opinion, it is all about making shopping as convenient as it can be.

As students, we have switched from desktops to mobiles- for taking notes, sending emails, studying, reading books- I even blog from the phone. So, it was only a matter of time that I begin shopping too, from my smart phone. Mobile shopping has many up sides- I love how I am alerted and notified every time there’s a good offer or discount, I like how I can browse for clothes even while I’m not home on the PC, I also like how easy it is to flip through clothes on the phone- plus, you can immediately share the link or the screenshot of the thing you like with your BFF on Whatsapp or whatever IM app you use.

So, according to me, the future of fashion lies in this magical device called a mobile phone as it will continue to be an indispensable part of our lives in the coming future. Shopping through mobile phones is convenient, beneficial and most importantly, #ItsPersonal .
