Yay! Another food festival has begun in Delhi. This blog post is a call to action for all you foodies to go ahead and check out the awesome eating options at The Grub Fest this weekend. There cannot be a better line up of cafes and restaurants than this one. There are Delhi's most loved cafes and restaurants like Fio, NYC Pie, Shiv Sagar, Big Wong, Zambar, Khan Chacha, United Coffee House and numerous others. By the way, United Coffee House is giving 15% off at its stall if you click a selfie at its photobooth and upload it to FB with #UnitedCoffeeHouse.
While The Grub Fest is majorly about food, do watch out for beautiful art installations, cookery workshops, food walks, several photo ops, live entertainment ( Vir Das will be performing on 4th April and DJ Sartek plays on 5th), and a lively Kids section. There's so much at offer in terms of food that you met get a little indecisive. There are food trucks and live grilling counters for hotdogs and kathi rolls. There's no dearth of sugary treats as well- from home bakers to the most popular patisseries to candy shops- The Grub Fest has it all. You can also do some food shopping- there's ready-made snacks, nachos, chips, dips, cheese varieties that you can take home. The quirky decor of the place adds to whole carnival-like feel of the food festival. My favourites were undoubtedly the 'Cool capsicums' that were chilling like anything at the entrance.
I had a great time with my friend Bhawna who's just as big a foodie as me. The sun completely drained us so it's definitely better to go in the evening. The nearest Metro station is JLN stadium (violet line). The entry is from gate number 4 of the stadium which is far from the station. It's better to take an auto, according to me.
