Where: Ground Floor, Restaurant Block, DLF Place, Saket
Cuisines: Rajasthani, Gujrati
Cost: 900 for two

Rajdhani, the popular Vegetarian Thali restaurant chain has a vibrant Mango Festival going on with delicious mango preparations in the menu. I recently went for the review and had a great time trying out the numerous dishes they served within one thali. Even though it looks a little overwhelming, I can say that it was a good complete meal that leaves you fully satiated. The variety is just amazing, vegetarian Rajasthani and Gujrati preparations are authentic and taste like comforting, home-cooked food.

The ambience is warm and neat. The art pieces used are very tribal and Indian and the wooden decor gives it a very modern look. The seats are spacious and there's Indian classical music playing for you in the background.

It all starts with a glass of salted lassi with delightfully generous quantities of cumin. Super refreshing! You can then choose from Mango shake or Panna, both of which are equally good. The meal starts with small bite-sized snacks like dahi bhalla, cutlets, dhokla, and some papad and fryems, accompanied with pickles and chutneys like tamarind, mint, garlic, and tomato. By the time you finish these, you'll be craving for more! But you won't have to wait long as the staff is ready for serving you an array of curries. Paneer Capsicum, Mixed dal, yellow dal, potato, kadhi (sweet and salty), along with a lovely dry preparation of Kundru was on the menu that night. The restaurant rotates among 72 fixed menus everyday. This was accompanied by chapatis, puri, lachha paratha, and missi roti.

The most loved Rajasthani regional dishes of Dal baati, Choorma, along with Pulao and Khichdi were also served with as much ghee as you'd please. Desserts included a very thick and very delicious aamras, strawberry halwa and maal puda. I dont even remember how many servings of the maal puda I had because they were yum! Light, crispy and just the right amount of sweet.

Check out my thali! All labelled and everything:

The thali is definitely worth the money, especially you are a big eater. You can have as many servings of everything as you'd like and the variety is just mind-boggling. It feels like you're treating your taste buds with so many Indian flavours at once. The food is really simple, not too much oil, and not very spicy. The staff is polite and attentive. Service is super quick! Kudos to the staff and manager for the warm hospitality. I'm definitely taking my family here soon. A 3.5 out of 5 for this one!
