Colour me {coral}

There are colours that are in for a particular season and then there are colours that are eternal. One such colour is coral- it has the warmth of red, the vibrance of orange and adds a happy vibe to your home if used correctly. Since coral is a very bright colour, one must be careful in not going overboard with it and try to balance it with softer and subtler colours. It can instantly lend your house a pop of colour when used with the right combinations.

You can have different elements in coral- walls, decor items, furniture, curtains, carpets, cushions- just throw in a little coral here and there and you are good to go! Here are 5 colours that go well with coral like nothing else:

Coral and cream- Cream is definitely the most commonly preferred colour with coral, in fact, I have been choosing it for my own room since the last two repaintings. Creams, or whites help in cooling down the coral. The combination is whimsical, dreamy and somewhat feminine.

Coral and mint- Shades like turquoise, sky blue and mints have forever found a companion in coral. You can use this bold yet delicate combination in rooms which reflect ample of natural light. This is one of the most vibrant and bold combinations. Works really well in place of the usual pink and blue theme for a kids room.

Coral and grey- There are not many colours that go well with grey. It is usually used as a neutralizer, to tone down the fierceness of coral. It makes for a really sophisticated and unusual mix of colours. You can definitely go for grey curtains on a coral wall, for a stark, balanced contrast.

Coral and navy- Coral and navy blue are both solid colours, completely opposite palettes. While coral has a warmer undertone, navy spells out cool and calm. That’s the reason why both gel well together. This combination is a bit experimental and navy has to be used carefully without letting it overpower the coral shades.

Coral and brown- Very well complemented shades, coral and brown have been the beauty and makeup industry’s darlings since forever. Even for home decor, brown when combined with coral gives a very earthy look and feel to the room, while coral gives it the much needed pop. It is again, a very balanced combination of colours that is simply failproof.
