Where: Hauz Khas Village
Cuisine: North Indian, Continental
Cost: 1800 for two

Lights Camera Action, Hauz Khas is another one of Priyank Sukhija's quirky, out of the box ventures and a recent addition to HKV's big line up of fancy-shmancy dining options. The theme is strictly Bollywood- expect lots of desiness, funky art works and an even funkier menu. It is quite vibrant and spacious, with two floors of seating. Foot tapping Bollywood remixes don't let you get bored while your food is being prepared.

I ordered a Peach, Ginger and Watermelon Cooler which was a delightful blend of tangy and sweet. Next up, the Green Apple and Cranberry Slush came with lots of fresh mint leaves and is just the kind of drink you'd like to have on an average Delhi afternoon. There are a lot of options for cocktails too! For starters, I had Oh La La Rolls- an Asian variant of the spring rolls. A transparent sheet of rice envelops the spicy vegetable mix which came with a slightly sweet chef's special dip. I tasted a lot of peanut in the tip. The rolls tasted quite nice but the rice sheet was a little too stretchy and chewy. Next up, Crispy Vegetables were an absolute delight. The vegetables were crunchy in a well balanced sauce.

You need to try Bachchan Sahab ke Rajma Chawal, the Rajma are super creamy and spicy. Every bite is a burst of Indian spices. Served with our favourite mint chutney and diced cucumber, the portion of Rajma is quite generous, I'd say. The rice, I felt were slightly under-cooked for my taste and a dropped a suggestion for the same.

For dessert, my mind stopped functioning as soon as I spotted Red Velvet on the menu- and that was that. The slice is very tempting visually and not too heavy on the frosting. The texture of the cake is moist and soft. Definitely a must try for all red velvet fanatics.

LCA already looks quite promising- good food, good ambience and a good location. It also has a small terrace that makes for a great spot for clicking pictures. All in all, a great place to chill or catch up with friends. A 3.5 out of 5 from my side!
