New in SDA Market: Hyper Local

Cuisine: Continental, Fusion
Cost: 1000 for two

I have always preferred SDA over other South Delhi chill-hubs. Aurobindo is a bit too fancy and I am permanently sick of HKV. SDA, I feel, is gifted with the perfect kind of vibe. The booze is cheap and food options, plenty. And while I may have a few favourite places that I keep going back to, I am always excited to see new ones popping up in this area. This week's excitement is brought to you by SDA's newest baby- Hyper Local.

The cafe-bar spreads across four spacious floors {wow}, including a pretty rooftop. The interiors are dominated by quirky, pop art posters and comfy, colourful couches. During the day, it might be the perfect place to work out of but it transforms into a thriving party place {they have two dedicated floors for live gigs and two for commercial music} and unwind over some stellar cocktails. Speaking of cocktails- Smoked Bourbon with Apple Ice and Star Anise was as high on drama as it was on taste- you just have to try it! However, if you'd prefer a mocktail, trust the refreshing Watermelon Mojito to snap out of a bad mood.

If you're not much of a bao-person, the three variants at Hyper Local will definitely make you one. Wasn't easy to pick a favourite but the ones with Wild Mushroom and Crispy Chicken did it for us. You will see a lot of Asian flavours and fusion happening on the menu. The Malaka Manchurian for me was a succesful experiment- crispy manchurian balls in a creamy coconut Thai curry base served with garlic rice. Next up, the Stuffed Vegetarian Money Bags was an interesting way to do spring rolls but I didn't enjoy its overpowering lemon grass flavour much. The star dish of the evening, as recommended by my non-vegetarian friend, was the Lemon Pepper Roasted Chicken served with creamy risotto.

Hyper Local has everything you need to have a good time and is possibly the most spacious one in the area. Go check it out now!
