Where: Block B, The Colonnade, Connaught Place
Cuisine: Indian, Italian, Chinese
Cost for two: INR 1200

A pub that's made for conversations, that's how I'd describe the newly opened Oddly inside the beautiful Colonnade complex in Connaught Place. Nestled right under Yeti-The Himalayan Kitchen, Oddly is a calm yet lively one for times when you want a place that's groovy enough to set the mood but also quiet enough to let conversations flow, that too, without denting your wallet too much!

It is yet to get its liquor license so had to make do with a rather varied beverage and mocktail menu. My friend opted for a Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie while I went for a Hazelnut Cream coffee. Both came with a hearty topping of crunchies and looked very promising but turned out to be too sweet for my taste.

Oddly serves a mix of Indian, Chinese and Italian food and the menu especially focuses on finger food and light bites that are extremely cocktail-friendly. My favourites include the Cheesy Cigar Rolls {stuffed with gooey, melt-in-mouth cheese and chopped olives and served with mustard mayo}, along with the Corn and Jalapeno Sliders {crispy corn and jalapeno patties, caramalised onion and a dollop of an amazing yogurt-based dip in lightly toasted buns}. Both the dishes turned out to be quite filling and were a good portion-size to serve two. We also ordered a Margherita pizza that came on a crisp, rectangular base with tomato, basil and a smashing tomato sauce on the base. Definitely one of the nicest Margheritas I've had in a while!

I highly recommend that you don't leave this place without trying AT LEAST one of their desserts. Go for the chill Caramel Custard {topped with some delightful cotton candy} if you prefer less-sweet desserts like I do or go all out with the Chocolate Tourte if you're a fan of Nutella. Again, the portion-sizes are extremely filling and complete value for money.

Light-but-great music, amazing-but-not-expensive food and a serene-but-lively ambience...CP needed a place like this for so long. Call up a friend and visit Oddly ASAP!
